Our Waterproofing Levels
Understanding the A+, A++ and A+++ waterproof ratings of our bags & backpacks
Not all our bags offer the same level of protection against rain. To help you easily choose the right bag for your needs, we've created a simple classification system based on the materials used, the type of closure, and the quality of the exterior finish.
🧪 Our three levels of waterproofing:
🟡 A+: Basic protection
- Suitable for light or passing rain
- Polyester fabric, cotton canvas, canvas and oxford fabric, velvet
- Suitable for short or sheltered journeys
- Recommended exposure time : less than 10 minutes (in light to moderate rain)
➡️ Ideal for use in the city when it is hardly raining or only light rain.
🟠 A++: Good protection
- Protects against moderate rain
- Medium water-repellent fabric: untreated leather & imitation leather, oxford fabric and canvas with TPU coating, nylon and treated fabrics
- With or without YKK/SBS zipper
- Recommended exposure time : up to 20–30 minutes (moderate rain)
➡️ Perfect for daily commutes on foot or by public transport, even in wet weather.
🔵 A+++: Maximum protection
- Withstands sustained or prolonged rain
- Highly water-repellent fabric (leather, treated imitation leather, neoprene, oxford + TPU coated)
- With YKK zippers
- Recommended exposure time : up to 45 minutes to several hours (for fully waterproof models)
How do our sealing levels work?
We do not conduct laboratory tests, but we rely on the technical specifications provided by our manufacturing partners to assign an indicative waterproof rating to each bag.
This rating is here to help you choose according to your actual use : moderate weather, frequent rainy conditions, cycling, transporting a computer, etc.
